ABOUT SIMPLE LITTLE BOAT Our Producer: Murray Foster Best known as the former bass player for Great Big Sea and Moxy Fruvous, he also founded the Toronto Songwriting School (2014). He has taught/teaches songwriting at Seneca College in their Independent Performing Songwriter program and created and directed The Cocksure Lads Movie for which he appeared on Dragons’ Den and took it to festivals from Whistler to Shanghai. In addition, he was invited to join the Toronto Music Advisory Council, convened by the City of Toronto to advise on improving Toronto’s music sector. Throughout it all, Murray has worked as a songwriter, musician, and music producer. He collaborated on three songs on the Fortunate Ones’ Juno-nominated album The Bliss, including his own song “Lay Me Down” which spent two weeks at #1 on the CBC Radio 2 Top 20. He performed in The Cocksure Lads live band, a twenty-year endeavor which inspired the feature film. He plays upright bass in The Lesters, a jazz trio with Tory Cassis and Jeff Ulster, and produced CD's for other artists in the past. The Album 12 original songs. Including nostalgic, thoughtful folk style songs, jovial tales of the sea, high-tempo folk/rock songs, emotional love ballads, historical songs, and playful fictional songs that make you want to dance, this album will take you on a musical journey highlighting the many influences the band incorporates into their own unique sound. Band: Stephen Lamb (guitar, vocals), Matti Palonen (whistle, vocals), Bexy Ashworth (fiddle, vocals) and Scot Allan (vocals). We are so fortunate to include many guest musicians throughout the album, all of whom have joined us on stage over the years, including: Kyle Sullivan (drums), Allana Jenish (fiddle), Michael O'Grady (accordion, whistle), Gary Grant (bodhran), Emily Yarascavitch (fiddle), Spencer Murray (pipes, flute), Tyson Galloway (banjo, mandolin) and Murray Foster (bass).
